Meet Dr. Ciesielski

Emily Ciesielski, PhD, CCC-SLP, ACUE

Dr. Ciesielski (aka "Dr. C")  is an ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist with over 30 years of experience in a variety of settings. Most recently, she was a professor in the Communication Disorders program at University of Central Missouri, where she taught the next generation of SLPs, founded W.O.R.D. Camp, and directed the Literacy Diagnostic team.  However, after eight years away from her beloved home state, she has moved back "home" to focus on improving children's school success one child at a time.  She has presented at national and international professional conferences.

She is passionate about remediating speech and language disorders, especially in relation to literacy difficulties, including dyslexia. She also works with children experiencing difficulties with phonology, morphology, syntax, and vocabulary.   She firmly believes that language (written and spoken) is the key to success in school and in life. She is  committed to ensuring that everyone has that key to success.

Dr. Ciesielski received a Ph.D. focusing on language and literacy disorders in young children from the University of Cincinnati. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon and a Master of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Language is not just another subject;

it is the subject by which all other subjects are taught.
